Mission: Help Ukrainians survive the invasion and end it.
Method: Non-weapons aid that is focused on front-line needs, driven by field research, and aimed at deadly bottlenecks.
Why front-line? That is where Russia is killing the most people, where most Ukrainians urge you to help, and where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you help the front lines hold, you both (1) save lives now and (2) help prevent more cities from experiencing deadly occupation, carpet bombing, and drone terror. You help prevent more Buchas and Khersons.
Why field research? To find the most deadly bottlenecks where aid can save the most lives. Ukraine has the area and population of Texas and a fraction of the economy. Short on funds and facing the world’s third largest military in a high-tech and fast-changing war, Ukraine inevitably scales different defense technologies and capacities at different rates. This creates bottlenecks that block billions of dollars in government and allied assets from being used effectively and reaching their lifesaving potential. Nonprofit aid that targets the most deadly bottlenecks can produce large asymmetric returns in lives saved. Field research identifies these bottlenecks.
Current aid focus: Unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for evacuating wounded, and UGV workshops. Key research finding: 5 million USD in nonprofit aid can unlock order 100 million USD in UGV assets over 1 year, i.e. convert thousands of UGVs that would otherwise lie unused into lifesaving machines for wounded evacuation and front-line logistics.
Current research focus: Non-weapons needs in air defense against cheap fast strike drones. Identifying key gaps in government and for-profit support.
Core Team: 10 Ukrainians, Americans, Finns, and Brits who have raised and delivered over 20 million USD in aid to Ukrainians since 2022.
Full Team: Core plus many volunteers who have driven and delivered aid to Ukrainians in Ukraine for periods as short as 1 week and as long as 4 months.
